Holland Town Center hosts holiday event
HOLLAND TWP. — The Holland Town Center hosted a free holiday event Saturday, Dec. 15, complete with crafts, hot cocoa and Santa Claus.
At least 10 stores participated in the event by contributing an item, coupon or service for a gift basket. After visitors took their free photo with Santa, they were given a punch card. Each participating store provided a hole punch for the card, which — when finished — was used for an entry into the gift basket drawing.
“I think it was a great turnout for our first time doing a Santa event here,” said Maranda Shear, owner of Art as a Lifestyle. “We got a lot of great traffic. The punch cards were a great idea because it pushed everyone to visit all of the stores.”
Visitors were able to complete more than a punch card. Shear helped children finish miniature canvas paintings and team members at EcoBuns helped create holiday ornaments. At Michigan Pantry, guests were given free hot chocolate.
“I had a lot of people asking about classes, which is really nice,” said Shear. “I think a lot of it was just really nice exposure for everyone. It was also adorable watching kids come in the door, because they would stop and you could see the ‘wow’ expression on their face. And that means the world to me, that I can give that kind of impression to people.”
Other participating businesses included Attitudes Dance and Activewear, Black Tulip Salon and Spa, Priscilla’s Boutique and Seppo Chiropractic.
